Comr. Badmus is set to say bye to FCE Special Alumni Association active Politics.
This was gathered during an exclusive interview he granted Naija Metro Correspondent, the National Pro tem AGS of the Association said he is happy and has no regret being part of the team that sacked the Cankerworms in Federal College of Education Special Oyo Alumni in 2016.
"Year 2016 was very hot for everyone that partook in FCE Alumni Struggle, we had a lot of actors who will forever see it as sweet experience, while some on the other hand may refer to it as bitter experience.
Most people joined 2016 struggle without a vision, I am one of the few that was on board for the purpose of making an impact, while I will choose to bow out when the ovation is loud" Badmus noted. When asked why a short involvement, he said.
"2016 to 2020 is a significant age which is enough for a selfless leader to spend to attain fulfillment, It is enough to carve the baton for the next generation.
We agitated for a power that was held by some self-alienated Leaders for more than two 2 decades(22years) and I feel accomplished seeing a mass involvement in our Alumni Association of today."
The one time SUG President of the Institution also noted that his major consolation is seeing the first democraticaly elected Executive make impacts within 4 Years.
While responding on the present day Alumni Association crisis, Badmus observed that though it is a news of joy for the sacked old Cabals, yet he believe it is one of the price the Association must pay for progress.
"Dr. Oladimeji is good, but got it wrong the moment he started engaging in some official dealings without carrying his co-executive along coupled with his move to impose a successor who has once served, which is one of the poor leadership style we faulted in the old Cabals' Administration".
The Political Scientist further stressed that life should be turn by turn, one actor should not monopolise or dominate the stage for more than half decade, this is why he believed he needs to call it quit having reign with Dr. M.A Oladimeji and Chief Mrs Modupe Abiona for four years as a State PRO and as National Pro tem AGS respectively. On his Alumni political exit he said.
"I think if we refuse to leave, we'll be depriving thousands of genieuses who have passed through the College (SPED) a golden opportunity to give back to our Alma Mata. "I will take my bow out of Alumni Active Struggle on 3rd of August 2020.
This I feel and hope anyone who succeeds the incumbent administration should note". On the law suit against the Eight (8) National Executive Members, Badmus responded.
" the Acting President Chief Mrs Modupe Abiona is a great leader, she is doing the executive proud by leading us to the Court on every Court hearing, besides, we have hired one of the best Legal Practisioners in Nigeria, a Chamber owned by an inclubent Oyo State Commissioner for Land and Housing. I believe with God we shall be victorious".
When asked about his favorite Alumni Presidential Candidate on the field, Comrade Badmus Tolulope Adekunle said "All aspirants currently on the field are good, the two that have not served at the National level are better, I mean Dr. Akani and the awaiting Dr. Olabiyi Abidemi, they are both gentle men of honour, just that I can't wait to see my Oga flag up his campaign as well, I mean Mr John Kehinde Jonathan, the incubent National Secretary of the Association" Badmus noted.
Badmus Tolulope Adekunle a Political Scientist and a PR expert served as the state PRO of Federal College of Education Special Oyo Alumni Association for two (2) years after which he doubled his official capacity by serving as National Pro tem AGS.
He has served as Secretary Planning Committee for the 1st Alumni Lecture Series in honour of Dr Theo Ajobiewe rtd. held in 2019.
