Chairman Communique drafting Committee for FCE Sp. Oyo National Alumni Association, Comrade Adeleke Adewale while speaking about the crisis in the association have maintained that he is not bothered with all sorts of attacks and character defamation on his personality by those he described as "unscrupulous elements" adding that he stand firmly against any form of illegality in the association.

Comr. Adeleke who doubles as the Secretary In - charge of the 2020 electoral committee, made this assertion during an interview with Naija Metro correspondence further speaks on matter arising in the affairs and management of the association. As quoted in the interview below.

Naija Metro: Good Morning Can we meet you?

AWA: Good morning I am Comr. Adeleke W. Adewale, I have been part and parcel of Alumni Association struggle since 2016 till date. 2016 struggle was born out of an agitation for inclusiveness and openness in Alumni Association of our dear institution. The idea was conceived by me having gathered some experience as  former Chairman of Alumni Association Electoral Committee at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode in 2013. I only felt that Alumni Association should not be a secret Association and nothing more. In that 2016 few people of like minds came together and coined a name then called CONCERNED MINDS! To the Glory of God all our nine candidates won the election on a plata of Gold as a result of hardworking and vigorous campaign. Prior to that time I can beat my Chest that none of those considered has elders ever challenged those that had been on the helm of Affairs for donkey years then.

Naija Metro: What's the role you played then or were you just an ordinary member of freedom fighters?

AWA: I was the Secretary of CONCERNED MINDS under the Leadership of my Oga Mr. Oyewole Fatunla, a former President SUG, 2005/2006 set and equally served as the Secretary Screening Committee that screened our aspirants under the Leadership of Dr. D. O AIKOMO, one of the fearless leader of the now defunct group Concerned Mind.

Naija Metro: What is reaction on online name calling?

AWA: Reaction! During 2016 struggle, I was given all sorts of malacious names but I have developed a very strong and thick skin for insults, you know as a Unionist since 2006, it's normal.

Naija Metro: How skilled are you on the interpretation of the Alumni Constitution?

AWA: I served as the Secretary Constitution Review Committee under the Leadership of Mr. James Ochei as the Chairman, Oloja Olanrewaju, Ogunleye Shamsudeen Ayo, Mrs Bello Osagie, Iyeritufu Mary and Sodehinde Monsur as Members. I know little if not much about the constitution, the  constitution they are trying to put aside elongated the tenure of the outgoing members of Executive.

Naija Metro: Wao! is that not your making?

AWA: No, it was Unanimously reviewed and adopted by the Members at a Congress with effect from the date it was approved. Few of the grey areas in the Reviewed Constitution are

i) Tenure of office was reviewed from two(2) years to four(4) years single term for each Officer with a caveat that no officer can be reelected for the same position twice.

Also on Allowance; certain allowances were captured in the Reviewed Constitution.

Mode of Elections and Structure: the Reviewed Constitution recognizes Delegate Elections  and structured on three Organs, National Executive Council (NEC), State Structure and Chapter Structure, to mention but a few.

Naija Metro: What can you say about the present situation of the SPED Alumni Association?

AWA: The present imbroglio in the Association is as a result of Illegality and unconstitutional moves by some unscrupulous element in the Association, towards jettisoning the rules and Tennant of the Constitution,  the few part that does not want the progress of the Association. I am not bothered with all these attacks and defamation of Character on my personality as I stand strongly against illegality which is already playing out.

Naija Metro: What do you have to say concerning the Outgoing Executive Council case in Court?

AWA: I don't want to comment on Executive Council issue since it is already in the Court of Law.

 Naija Metro: On the Congress

AWA: I stumbled over a Call for Congress on the 19th of September. In the Tribune news paper fully signed by three Members on behalf of fifty (50) Financial Members, as a financial Member and one of the regular attendees of Congresses, I was happy that issues bothering on our Association will be resolved amicably and peace would be  sought. Like every other financial Member, On Saturday 10th of October  2020, I was at the venue of the Congress, exactly 11:00 A.M as we were about to commence the meeting, a phone call came in from D.P.O Ilora Division, and we later moved to Ilora Baptist Secondary School, Oke Isanmi after been told by one of the Conveners Mr. Oyewole Fatunla who attended to DPO that our security is under threat, we have to protect our lives, so we decided to move to the latter venue.

Naija Metro: Your involvement?

AWA: My availability enhanced how I was made the Communiqe drafting Committee Chairman.

Naija Metro: On Benikol Congress?

AWA:  I am not aware of any other Congress else where. The one and the only valid Congress is the one I attended alongside some other great Alumni members, which we concluded at Oke Sanmi Ilọra.

Naija Metro: You general comment?

AWA: As time goes on, elements of illegality and breakers of rule of law will be exposed, may all live to witness to see it by ourselves.

Naija Metro: Thanks for the audience.

AWA: You are welcome.
