Amalgamation House, 1914

This is the building where the then Governor of the Southern and Northern Protectorates, Sir. Fredrick Lord Lugard amalgamate both Protectorates in the year 1914 to form the Nigeria of today.

NAIJA METRO gathered that the historical site can be found in Ikot Abasi, a community in the southern part of Akwa Ibom State.

Critics have faulted past and present Presidents of Nigeria for their negligence as none of them see it as a good project to reconstruct and renovate the dilapidated building.

This building can serve as a National tourist attraction if renovated.
