Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has praised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the country’s string of achievements as signs of national rebirth across sports, economy and governance.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) and sighted by AFRIPOST, Omokri congratulated Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, for their historic victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship, noting that their success followed closely after the Super Falcons clinched the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
“Super Falcons and D’Tigress are simultaneously holding the African Football and Basketball Championship! Nigeria, under President Tinubu, is on a winning streak. Congratulations to the D’Tigress!” he wrote.
“And it is not most in sports. President Tinubu has the Midas touch. Whatever he touches turns to gold.”
“With the rebasing of our economy, our GDP has grown by $67 billion in just two years of President Tinubu, moving from ₦269.29 trillion to ₦372.8 trillion.”
He added that the Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index has surged from 55,769.28 points in May 2023 to 131,000 points in August 2025.
Omokri also stressed the impact of President Tinubu’s Student Loan Initiative, which has enabled over 600,000 students to access tertiary education.
“This is even as students and undergraduates all over Nigeria are busting into spontaneous celebrations as the NELFUND is making it possible for 600,000 young Nigerians to attend university amidst the Student Loan Initiative.”
He further lauded the administration for granting full autonomy to Local Governments, a move he said, had received widespread praises nationwide.
“And now, as D’Tigress have defeated the Malian side to secure Nigeria’s fifth straight Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) Women’s AfroBasket title, a week after the Super Falcons won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2025, it is looking like President Tinubu is the Moses sent to lead Nigeria to the Promised Land,” he said.
