The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Femi Haruna, PSC(+), has decorated 365 newly promoted officers of the Nigeria Police Force during a ceremony held at the Police Officers’ Mess, Eleyele, Ibadan.
The event, attended by senior police officers, invited dignitaries, and members of the media, marked a major milestone in the command’s efforts to reward hard work and commitment within the Force.
Among the promoted officers were ACP Victoria Mulero (Commander, 22 SPU Base 22), ACP Oluyide Afolake (Deputy Officer in Charge of Veterinary Services), CSP Adebakin O. Joseph (Deputy Commander, SPU Base 22), CSP Borisanmi Ojo (DPO, Ashi Division), CSP Idowu Kehinde (Deputy Commanding Officer, Swift Response Squad), CSP Bello Temitope (Officer-in-Charge, Safer Highway), CSP Aderanti Joseph (DPO, Egbeda), CSP Ayoola Mutiu (DPO, Kishi), DSP Akomolafe Abiodun (SCID), and ASP Fesobi Victor (PA to the Commissioner of Police), among others.
In his address, CP Haruna congratulated the officers and expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his “visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare and professional growth of officers nationwide.”
He also acknowledged the support of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 11 Osogbo, AIG Fred Ekokotu, PSC, fdc, for his mentorship and guidance.
The Commissioner charged the newly promoted officers to rededicate themselves to the principles of integrity, discipline, and selfless service, emphasizing that higher ranks come with greater responsibilities and expectations of exemplary leadership.
According to the command, two officers were promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), nine officers were elevated from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), eight officers advanced from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP), while 346 officers were confirmed as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP).
While congratulating the newly promoted personnel, CP Haruna reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining peace and security across Oyo State.
