BREAKING: Tinubu Donates All Presidential Salaries to Support Wounded Soldiers, Families

Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has donated all his presidential salaries since assuming office to a special fund dedicated to supporting wounded soldiers and the families of fallen military personnel.

The President directed the Accountant-General of the Federation to establish the special account as a fund for members of the Armed Forces who serve the nation, those injured in the line of duty, and families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

He stated that the salaries will serve as seed funding for the initiative, which will directly assist soldiers who have lost their limbs as well as widows, widowers, and children of deceased personnel.

Tinubu made the announcement as part of his personal commitment to the welfare of the troops, independent of existing insurance and welfare schemes.

He called on state governors, members of the National Assembly, the private sector, his friends, and all well-wishers to support the fund.

“This is not charity. It is duty. And we will fulfil it,” the President said.

He added: “We must never forget those who stand in harm’s way for our peace, nor the sacrifices borne by their families.”

Details of the account will be made public in due course with the announcement being made on the occasion of President Tinubu’s 74th birthday.
