The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has expressed confidence that he would secure overwhelming support if he decides to run for the presidency.
Speaking on Monday during a media interaction with selected journalists, Wike said Nigerians continue to hold him in high regard.
“Nigerians still love me, and if I contest the presidential election, they will vote for me massively,” he stated.
The minister highlighted his ability to relate with ordinary citizens, citing his record as former Governor of Rivers State and his current achievements as FCT Minister.
He stressed that his performance in public office demonstrates his capacity to deliver results and connect with the populace.
Wike also voiced assurance that his political supporters would prevail even if the recently held council elections in the nation’s capital were to be rerun.
He maintained that his loyal followers remain committed, adding that his track record would continue to earn him wide recognition and support across the country.
The FCT Minister, a former governor known for his developmental projects, used the opportunity to reiterate his dedication to public service and engagement with citizens.
Political analysts noted that Wike’s comments signal a readiness to test his popularity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to focus on performance and results, saying that leaders who deliver tangible benefits to the people naturally earn their confidence and votes.
