Father Impregnates Daughter Five Times in Ogun

A father in Ogun State has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing his own 21-year-old daughter and impregnating her five times over several years.

The suspect, Oluwadamilare Ewedemi, who lives in Ifo Local Government Area, is now in police custody following the shocking allegations.

The young woman, whose identity is being protected, told officers the abuse started in 2019 soon after her father moved her from a motherless home in Ikeja, Lagos, to Ijebu-Ode under the claim of looking after her.

She said the repeated sexual assaults led to five separate pregnancies, each of which her father arranged to terminate through illegal abortions.

On February 1, 2026, the victim finally escaped the constant harassment and found safety at a church on Pakoto Mountain.

Days later, on March 26, she gathered the courage to walk into Ifo Police Division and report the years of torment by her biological father.

Ogun State Police Command spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed the arrest on Monday.

“The victim showed real bravery by escaping and speaking out,” Babaseyi said. “We acted fast on her report and picked up the suspect without delay.”

He added that operatives from Ifo Division, led by CSP Kamorudeen, the Divisional Police Officer, moved swiftly after receiving the tip-off.

“The case has been moved to the Gender Desk for full investigation and prosecution,” Babaseyi stated. “We will ensure justice for this young woman who suffered so much in silence.”

Police sources say preliminary findings support the victim’s account, and the suspect remains in custody while investigations continue.

This disturbing case has sparked fresh calls for stronger protection of young girls in Ogun State and across Nigeria against family-related sexual abuse.

Residents in Ifo and surrounding communities expressed outrage, describing the incident as one of the most heartbreaking incest cases to hit the state in recent times.

Authorities are urging anyone with similar experiences to report immediately to the nearest police station or gender desk for prompt action.
