Join Nigerian Army – Gov Okpebholo Pleads With Edo Youths

Governor Monday Okpebholo has encouraged Edo youths to seize the chance to enlist in the Nigerian Army’s 91st Regular Recruits Intake, highlighting the benefits of service for personal growth and national contribution.

The call comes as the Nigerian Army prepares to deploy its sensitisation team across the state from April 8 to 14.

The team’s visit is designed to guide prospective applicants through the recruitment process and answer questions about eligibility and requirements.

Governor Okpebholo emphasised the opportunity’s potential to provide meaningful employment and structured career development.

“Joining the army offers more than a job; it is a route to disciplined living, skill acquisition, and national service,” he said.

“I urge our youths to participate actively and help Edo meet its national recruitment quota.”

He also appealed to parents, traditional leaders, and community organisations to support young candidates.

“Families and community institutions play a key role in motivating youths to pursue this path,” the governor noted, adding that collective encouragement could enhance participation significantly.

Prospective applicants have been directed to the official Army recruitment portal for detailed guidance on the application process.

The governor reminded candidates to prepare all necessary documents before attending the sensitisation sessions.

“The Edo state government remains dedicated to youth empowerment,” Okpebholo said. “We call on all stakeholders to support this initiative and help our youths access these valuable opportunities.”
