Actress Annie Macaulay has returned to Nollywood months after her separation from legendary Afrobeat singer 2Baba.
The 41-year-old shared a video from a movie set on Instagram on Thursday, expressing excitement about acting again.
According to Annie, acting remains close to her heart and being back on set has reminded her why she started her journey in the film industry.
She said,“There’s something so beautiful about finding your way back to the things that make your soul come alive…
“Being back on set, creating stories, becoming different characters, and doing what I truly love reminds me of why I started this journey in the first place. Acting will always have a special place in my heart, and I’m honestly so happy to be back doing what brings me joy.
“Grateful for growth, new beginnings, and every opportunity to keep telling stories through film. The magic is still there… and this is only the beginning again”.
Earlier this year, Annie wiped her Instagram page shortly after news of her separation from 2Baba became public. She later returned to social media with an appreciation message to family, friends and supporters who stood by her during the difficult period.
In January 2025, 2Baba announced on Instagram that he and Annie had separated and filed for divorce after years of marriage. Although there was initial confusion after the singer claimed his account was hacked, he later confirmed the announcement in a video.
Since the separation, Annie has gradually returned to public life. One of her first public outings was a visit to actress Regina Daniels and her husband Ned Nwoko in Abuja, where videos shared online showed the actress warmly interacting with the couple.
Annie and 2Baba got married in 2012 and have two daughters together. Their relationship had long been in the public eye, including on the Netflix reality series Young, Famous & African, where Annie spoke openly about challenges in their marriage.
