The Oyo State Police Command has announced a massive deployment of security personnel across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to ensure adequate security and maintain public order during the festive period.

The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Mr. Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbemiga, in a released signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka maintained noted that the force had directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Tactical Commanders, and other operational units to put in place watertight security arrangements across the state throughout the celebration.
The Police Commissioner, while congratulating Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urged them to use the period to pray for the continued peace, progress, and security of Oyo State and Nigeria.
He also advised residents to remain law-abiding and celebrate responsibly in line with existing laws.
According to the command, tactical teams, detectives, intelligence operatives, and conventional police officers have been strategically deployed to worship centres, recreational centres, public gatherings, highways, and hinterlands across the state to prevent criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents and travellers.
Olugbemiga reassured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging members of the public to support security agencies with credible and timely information to aid effective policing and crime prevention.
