The Federal Government has announced Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government.

In a statement released by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the minister extended warm greetings to the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan.

He encouraged them to uphold values such as self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace while fostering love, forgiveness, and unity for a better society.

He also urged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for national peace, stability, and prosperity.

Expressing optimism that Eid-el-Fitr would promote unity across religious and ethnic divides, he called for responsible celebrations and acts of kindness towards the less privileged in line with the essence of Ramadan.

On behalf of the government, Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished all Muslims a joyous Eid Mubarak and prayed for blessings, happiness, and success for all.
