Oriyomi Hamzat May Emerge Accord Consensus Guber Candidate as Party Nat’l Exco Arrive Ibadan

The leadership of the Accord Party is expected to declare media entrepreneur and politician Oriyomi Hamzat as the party’s consensus governorship candidate during its primary election scheduled for Tuesday in Ibadan.
Members of the party’s National Working Committee have reportedly arrived in the Oyo State capital ahead of the primary, amid strong indications that party stakeholders have reached an agreement on Hamzat’s emergence as the consensus candidate for the governorship race.

Sources within the party disclosed that consultations among leaders and aspirants intensified over the weekend in a bid to ensure a rancour-free exercise and present a united front ahead of the next gubernatorial election in Oyo State.

Meanwhile, another aspirant in the race, Kunle Busari popularly known as Gudugudu, may face possible disqualification following internal party considerations, although party officials have yet to make an official statement on the development.

There are also indications that another contender, Fatai Owoseni, may withdraw from the race.

An insider who confided in Goalpoachernews stated that Owoseni does not have confidence in the process as a result of perceived external influence.

The expected withdrawal is believed to be part of ongoing efforts by party leaders to build consensus within the party hierarchy.
