Oyo Abduction: Gbajabiamila Leads FG’s Delegation To Affected Communities In Oriire


A Federal Government delegation has arrived in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, following the abduction of about 46 pupils and teachers from Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools in Esiele and Yawota communities, Orire Local Government Area.

The team is led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, and includes the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu; the Minister of Defence, Retired General Christopher Musa; the Minister of Power, Mr. Joseph Tegbe; and the Special Adviser on Public Communications, Mr. Sunday Dare.
Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, disclosed this in a statement.

According to him, shortly after arriving in Ogbomoso, the delegation proceeded to the affected communities to assess the situation and coordinate the Federal Government’s response efforts.

Mr. Dare stated that President Bola Tinubu had already activated coordinated security measures aimed at securing the release of the victims and tracking down the abductors.

He added that the Federal Government is working closely with security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted victims and the arrest of those responsible.
