Don’t Blame Peller For Your Failed Career — Portable Slams Ycee

Controversial street pop singer, Portable has defended TikToker Peller following Ycee‘s remark on the growing “Olodo uprising” among Nigerian youths.

Naija Metro News had reported that the rapper, in a recent interview on the Afropolitan podcast, lamented what he described as the declining value placed on intelligence and academic excellence in Nigeria.

He also criticised what he called the “Peller culture”, naming TikToker Peller as an example of young people seeking online fame through outrageous content rather than education.

Peller, however, fired back at the rapper, describing him as an “illiterate” and “very anyhow OG”.

Defending Peller in an Instagram video, Portable accused Ycee of blaming the TikToker for his own downfall, arguing that he should take responsibility for his career instead.

He also mocked the rapper’s achievements, claiming Peller is now more successful and questioning what Ycee had accomplished despite being educated.

“When you were doing well, you didn’t blame anyone else, so don’t blame another person for your downfall now. You insulted Peller for being “illiterate”, but you, who claim to be educated, what have you achieved?” he said.

“Peller is bigger than you now. Stop blaming another man for your downfall. You released ‘Jagaban’ when I was in secondary school, and you haven’t had another song as successful since. Now you’re blaming the younger generation. How many houses have you bought with your education?”
