The decision, announced on Monday, affects Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants serving in the state government.

The move also extends to the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Mashood Agboola, the exercise is part of efforts to broaden participation within the ruling party and strengthen the administration with fresh perspectives.

“The reshuffle is designed to create room for more stakeholders to contribute to governance while bringing renewed momentum to the implementation of government policies,” the statement said.

Furthermore, the governor acknowledged the contributions of the affected officials, praising their commitment and service during their time in office.

“Every appointee who served in this administration played a role in advancing the state’s development agenda, and their efforts are sincerely appreciated,” the statement added.

Governor AbdulRazaq also wished the former aides success in their future pursuits, noting that public service remains an important responsibility regardless of position.

Meanwhile, all affected officials have been directed to return government property in their possession and complete the handover process through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

The latest move is being viewed as a limited cabinet reorganisation aimed at repositioning the administration ahead of the next phase of governance in Kwara State.
