The President of NANS, Akinteye Babatunde, disclosed the development on Wednesday, stating that the decision followed engagements between the student body and the university management.
Babatunde, in a statement, said Adio's reinstatement came after the university senate considered issues surrounding his suspension.

“Comrade James Adio, the FUOYE SUG President, has been officially reinstated,” the NANS president stated.

The student body had earlier expressed optimism that the university authorities would review the disciplinary action taken against Adio and other affected students following discussions with management.

According to NANS, the intervention also led to the reinstatement of some students who were previously suspended, enabling them to participate in ongoing examinations.

Before the latest development, Babatunde had disclosed that the university senate would meet to consider Adio's case and ensure that justice was served while protecting his academic future.

Adio was suspended alongside two other students over allegations relating to the handling of practical fees, a decision that attracted criticism from the national student leadership.

The reinstatement is expected to bring an end to weeks of controversy surrounding the student union leadership and disciplinary measures at the institution.
