Celebrity music promoter, Samson Erinfolami Balogun, well known as Sam Larry, has spoken publicly after surviving a road accident that claimed the life of his bouncer.

Naija Metro News had reported that the accident happened over the weekend on the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway in Lagos State when the vehicle conveying Sam Larry and his bouncer collided with a trailer. The crash left the vehicle badly damaged.
Sam Larry, who is receiving treatment in hospital, shared an update in a live video, saying he is recovering and expects to be discharged soon. However, he said he would have to use a wheelchair because he cannot walk for now.
He said, “I’m doing well.
“I’m expected to be discharged from the hospital soon. The only issue I’m facing right now is that I can’t walk, so I’ll he using a wheelchair, and God knows till when.
“But, I’m grateful to be alive. I’ve seen a lot of negative speculation surrounding this accident. The God I serve knows the truth; I am innocent”.
This is the second time Sam Larry has survived a serious road accident. In 2024, he was also involved in a car crash and later thanked God for sparing his life, expressing confidence that he would recover fully.
Sam Larry has remained a controversial figure since the death of singer Mohbad in September 2023. A viral video showing him confronting and assaulting the late singer during a music video shoot sparked public outrage and renewed scrutiny of their relationship before Mohbad’s death.
Following investigations, Sam Larry and singer Naira Marley were arrested and questioned over allegations linked to Mohbad’s death. In February 2025, the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions cleared both men of any criminal liability in connection with the singer’s death, and a magistrate court discharged them. However, the coroner’s inquest into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death is still ongoing.
