Star Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta has responded to controversial criticism that followed his recent statement about losing dozens of horses, saying he decided to speak out after seeing videos of people mocking him online.

The actor recently went viral after revealing that he had lost 48 horses over the years while speaking about the challenges of keeping the animals.
His remarks sparked reactions on social media, with some questioning how he could afford to own such a large number of horses.
Reacting to the comments, Ibrahim said the number of horses he has lost is now 49 because another one died after the earlier video. He added that only two horses have died this year, making it the lowest number of losses he has recorded in a year.
The actor said he usually ignores what people say about him but felt the need to respond after watching videos criticising him.
He said, “I have cultivated the habit of not addressing everything people say about me. I watched like two videos that people reposted, bashing me. Let me say it directly: I have lost 49 horses and not 48. Because after that 48, another one died. This year we have lost two horses, and this is the lowest”.
Ibrahim is known for his love of horses and has often featured them in his films and on his social media pages. In 2024, he mourned the death of one of his favourite horses, describing the loss as painful.
The actor owns Africhatta Film Village and Resort in Oyo State, a film production facility where horses and other animals are kept for movie productions and training. The facility has served as a location for several films, including Lisabi and Basorun Gaa.
