The association, led by its Chairman, Engr. Kolawole Olayinka, made the declaration on Friday during a visit to Adekanmbi’s campaign office in Jericho, Ibadan, where members formally endorsed his 2027 governorship ambition.

Speaking on behalf of the association, Olayinka said AWDROP’s decision to back Adekanmbi was informed by a long-standing relationship spanning over 16 years and confidence in his leadership capacity and commitment to development.

“We have been with him for the past 16 years. When we heard that he wanted to contest, we were excited because we want to continue the good work we have been doing together in Oyo State,” he said.

Describing Adekanmbi as a development-oriented leader, Olayinka noted that every project handled by the governorship hopeful had been executed with professionalism and excellence.

“Wherever I have met Adekanmbi and on every project he has handled, he has always delivered very well. He is a developer with the capacity to move Oyo State forward,” he added.

The AWDROP chairman disclosed that the association plans to rehabilitate moribund boreholes across Oyo State while also constructing 10 new boreholes to be named after Adekanmbi in recognition of its support for his governorship aspiration.

According to him, the initiative reflects the association’s commitment to improving access to potable water in communities across the state while sustaining its partnership with the governorship hopeful.

Responding, Adekanmbi appreciated the endorsement and described the support from the association as another demonstration of growing confidence in his vision for Oyo State.

He assured the rig owners of his commitment to expanding infrastructure and improving access to basic amenities, including potable water, if elected governor in 2027, adding that his administration would build on the developmental strides of Governor Seyi Makinde for the benefit of all residents.
