Veteran Nollywood actor Yomi Fash-Lanso has sparked reactions online after a video showed him distributing APC branded bread and other food items to residents in Lagos.

The video, which surfaced on Saturday, showed the actor handing out food packages during what appeared to be a grassroots political outreach linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users described the activity as community outreach, others criticised the distribution of food items as political tokenism amid the economic difficulties facing many Nigerians.
Yomi has previously been involved in political activities in support of President Bola Tinubu and the APC. In January 2023, he was among Nollywood practitioners who campaigned for Tinubu during the presidential election.
In March 2026, he attended the launch of EKO57, a support group formed to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking at the event, he defended his continued support for the president and challenged those criticising Tinubu to present an alternative candidate with a record they could defend.
EKO57, which brings together actors and other public figures, has been involved in grassroots mobilisation across Lagos.
The group takes its name from Lagos’ 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas. Its activities have also extended beyond politics, with the Lagos Waste Management Authority announcing a partnership with EKO57 in April 2026 to mobilise young people for environmental cleanliness and responsible waste management.
