The Oyo State Government has approved the appointment of Dr. Taiwo Sherifat Olajide as the substantive Registrar of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

The appointment was approved by Governor Seyi Makinde and conveyed in a letter issued by the state government and obtained by NAIJA METRO NEWS.
Before her appointment, Dr. Olajide served as the institution’s Deputy Registrar, Admissions, where she played a key role in overseeing admission processes and academic administration.
She also previously served as the Faculty Officer, Faculty of Financial Management Studies (FFMS), contributing to the administrative development of one of the institution’s major faculties.
Dr. Olajide’s appointment is part of the approval of four substantive principal officers for The Polytechnic, Ibadan. Others appointed are Dr. Lasisi Taiwo Abideen as Rector, Mr. Adegbola Abiodun Kolawole as Bursar, and Mr. Osunrinade Olukunle Akinbola as Librarian.
The appointments take effect from July 31, 2026, with each officer to serve a single tenure of five years.
The appointments also bring to an end years of acting leadership in the affected principal offices at the institution.
The Managing Editor of Naija Metro News, Kehinde Ayanboade, congratulated Dr. Taiwo Lasisi, Dr. Taiwo Sherifat Olajide and the other newly appointed principal officers on their appointments.
He expressed confidence in their ability to provide purposeful leadership and advance the growth and academic excellence of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, wishing them a successful and impactful tenure in office.
