Adebayo Salami, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, Mr Latin Others Attend Ogogo’s Eighth-Day Fidau in Ilaro

Actors Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta and comic actor Kehinde Olasehinde, popularly known as Pa James, were among the personalities who attended the eighth-day Fidau prayer for late actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, on Monday in Ilaro, Ogun State.

The prayer was held at the Stadium in Ilaro as family members, friends and colleagues gathered to honour the late actor.
Veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Jide Kosoko, Toyosi Adesanya, Rotimi Salami, Mama Rainbow, Fausat Balogun and actress Fathia Balogun were also in attendance.

Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, were present at the prayer.

The family had earlier announced the Fidau through Kira’s Instagram page, following the actor’s death on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Ogogo died at the age of 66 after battling stage four cancer. His daughters had earlier appealed for medical assistance after revealing the severity of his condition.

The actor was buried in his hometown, Ilaro, on Monday, August 24, in accordance with Islamic rites. Several colleagues, including Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, Faithia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Mr Latin, Ireti Osayemi and Toyosi Adesanya, attended the burial.

The Fidau was one of the programmes announced by the family as part of Ogogo’s final burial rites.

The family has also announced an Artists’ Day to be held 40 days after his burial at the Pavilion Hall in Ilaro. The event is expected to bring together actors, musicians, comedians, singers and other entertainers.

Ogogo, who began his acting career in the early 1980s, spent more than four decades in the Yoruba film industry as an actor, producer and filmmaker.
