Asake Cancels Los Angeles Concert Days Before Show

Star Afrobeats star, Asake has cancelled his scheduled concert at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The concert was billed for Sunday, September 6, as part of his ongoing In God We Trust World Tour.

A cancellation notice issued to ticket buyers said the event had been called off, but no reason was given for the decision.

“Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled. The Asake ‘In God We Trust’ show at The Greek Theatre on Sunday, September 6th, 2026 has been cancelled,” the notification reads.

“You will receive a refund back to your card used for payment within 5 business days. Please allow a further 2-3 days for the refund to credit to your account. No action is required on your part.”

The notice said refunds would be processed automatically, with buyers expected to receive their money within five business days, followed by another two to three days for the funds to reflect in their accounts.

The cancellation has generated reactions online, with some social media users linking it to alleged low ticket sales. Others disputed the claim, saying the concert was close to selling out before it was cancelled.

There has been no official statement from Asake or the organisers confirming low ticket sales as the reason for the cancellation.

The cancellation also means the Los Angeles date will no longer feature on the 13 date tour schedule announced earlier this year. The tour opened with Asake’s appearance at Afro Nation Portugal in Portimão on July 4 before moving to North America in August.

The North American leg included stops in Chicago, Toronto, Laval, Brooklyn, Lowell, Columbia, Atlanta, Miami, Houston and Los Angeles. Swazi DJ and producer Uncle Waffles was announced as a special guest for several of the dates.

Asake is still scheduled to perform at The O2 in London on October 15 and Accor Arena in Paris on October 24. Both venues currently list the shows on their official websites.

The tour supports Asake’s fourth studio album, M$NEY, which was released on May 1. The 13-track album was released through his imprint, GIRAN Republic, in partnership with EMPIRE.
