Adeyemi is facing allegations of forgery, conspiracy and impersonation over claims that he paraded himself as the Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
The prosecution alleged that Adeyemi, alongside two other suspects who are currently at large, produced several documents falsely attributed to the Presidency, including appointment letters and official correspondence.

The matter was initially instituted by the police before the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice took over the prosecution.

Following Adeyemi’s not-guilty plea, the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, asked the court to keep him in custody pending trial, arguing that the defendant had denied the allegations and was therefore required to face the trial.

Defence counsel, Genesis Francis, told the court that his client had filed an application seeking bail and that the application had been served on the prosecution.

Justice Mohammed Garba Umar thereafter adjourned the proceedings until October 12, 2026, for the hearing of the bail application and further proceedings in the case.

Adeyemi had previously failed to appear in court for his arraignment, leading the judge to order his arrest.

He was subsequently apprehended and brought before the court.

The charges accuse him and the other suspects of allegedly forging presidential appointment letters, State House letterhead, requests for office accommodation and other documents purportedly issued by government authorities, as well as allegedly presenting himself as the head of the purported agency.
