Afrobeats singer and one of the defunct PSquare duo, Peter Okoye has explained why he now celebrates his birthday on November 30 instead of November 18, his actual birth date.

Speaking on the Capital XTRA Podcast, the former P-Square member said November 18 had become a difficult day for him over the past 16 to 17 years.
Peter said the discomfort stemmed from gossip and tension that often followed birthday celebrations with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
According to him, some people would visit Paul’s residence to discuss matters concerning him before coming to his side.
“I changed my birthday from November 18th to November 30th because for 16-17 years, it’s been the worst day of my life. People go to Paul’s house to gossip about me before coming to my side. I wish I could change it on my documents and passport,” he said.Send Birthday Gifts
Peter and Paul, who were born on November 18, 1981, became known as P-Square and built a successful music career with songs including ‘Do Me’, ‘Personally’, ‘Chop My Money’ and ‘Beautiful Onyinye’.
The brothers first parted ways in 2017 following disagreements over their music and business affairs. They reunited in 2021 but split again in 2024.
