Star Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has explained reason she took a long break from acting, saying she stepped away from the industry to focus on her family and raise her children.

Filani made this known in an interview with BBC Yoruba, where she said her children are now grown and independent, giving her the opportunity to return to acting.
“I stopped acting to focus on my family. My kids are grown; they know left from right, and it’s time for me to get back to acting,” she said.
The actress also addressed speculation surrounding her marriage, denying claims that she is a second wife.
“I’m not a second wife; my husband might’ve had a marriage before, but I didn’t meet anyone in his house,” she clarified.
Filani had previously spoken about her decision to take a break from acting after marriage, explaining that she wanted to devote more time to her family.
The actress began her career in the 2000s and has featured in several Yoruba and English language films, including Jenifa, Iku Ewa, Aje Metta and Different Strokes.
She also produced and starred in Different Strokes, which was released in 2023.
