BREAKING: 20 Oyo Corps Members Abducted in Imo Regain Freedom

Twenty prospective National Youth Service Corps members abducted while travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State, to their orientation camp in the South-East have been released.

The release was confirmed by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, according to a statement signed by his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko.


Oloko said the Olubadan received confirmation of their release from the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, during a telephone conversation at about 5pm on Wednesday.

The prospective corps members were abducted while travelling to the NYSC orientation camp, raising concerns over their safety and triggering efforts to secure their release.

Their freedom brings an end to days of uncertainty for the victims and their families, who had been awaiting news of their safe return.

The development is expected to bring relief to the families and relatives of the prospective corps members following the confirmation of their release.
