The commission, in an advisory issued on Saturday, said the website, pvc-inecnigeria-org.blogspot.com, was falsely advertising a fresh nationwide voter registration exercise purportedly scheduled to run from September 28 to October 27, 2026.
INEC urged members of the public to disregard the platform and refrain from clicking on the link or providing personal information through it.

The commission warned that submitting personal details on the fake website could expose users to identity theft, data harvesting and other forms of cybercrime.

“Members of the public are strongly advised not to click on the link or submit any personal information on the website, as doing so may expose them to the risk of having their sensitive personal data harvested or misused,” INEC stated.

The electoral body stressed that the nationwide voter registration exercise had already ended on July 26, 2026, describing claims that registration was currently open through the website as false.

INEC said the fraudulent platform was being presented as the “Final Phase of Nationwide Online Voter Card Registration” and purported to offer services including updating voters’ details, transferring polling units and replacing lost or damaged PVCs.

The website also allegedly gave the impression that voter registration and PVC delivery were free, a claim the commission said formed part of the misleading information being circulated.

The development comes as INEC continues efforts to keep Nigerians informed about legitimate electoral processes and protect voters from fraudulent platforms seeking to exploit public interest in voter registration.

The commission advised Nigerians to verify information concerning voter registration, PVCs and other electoral activities through its recognised official communication channels.

It further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal or electoral information with unverified websites or online platforms.
