Ooni, Oyetola Urges Youths To Imitate Virtues Of Lt. Gen. Alani Akinrinade As He Clocks 80




Executive Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adéyeyè Eniìtàn Ogunwuai have call on the entire youths of Nigeria to imitate the virtues of Lt. Gen Alani Akinrinade.

Oyetola made this preach while addressing Newsmen at the 80th Birthday celebration of Lt. Gen Akinrinade, A former Chief of Army Staff, A Yoruba Icon and a Democracy Advocate.

Oyetola who advice youths to contribute their quota to the development of Nigeria, further reveal that he is very happy and privilege to be the Governor of a state where the great icon hails from.


In the same development, the Ooni of Ife, Imperial Ọba Adeyeye Enitan Ògúnwùsì also enjoins youths to extols the virtue of Lt Gen. Alani Akinrinade by applying a selfless service in all endeavours of their life.

Ojaja explained that many youth of nowadays that range between the age of 18-35 might have little or no record of patriotism in National development when they clocks 80.

He added that despite the fact that the celebrant is a military man, he still stands as a frontier in the history of Nigerian democracy.

The celebration was attended by scores of Elites, traditional rulers and high level dignitaries which include the Oyo state governor, ably represented by the deputy governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, chairman of the Nigeria governors forum and governor of Oyo state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Alaafin Ọba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alake of Egbaland to mention few.

Also on attendance, is the immediate past governor of Oyo state, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, former governor Alao Akala and APC Elder Statesman, Chief Bisi Akande.

Tracing it back to history, Lt. Gen Opoola Alani Akinrinade is a former chief of Army staff, chief of defence staff on Nigeria. He is also a fronting commander who fought effortlessly during the 1967-1969 Civil War.
