Naija Metro Publisher, Kehinde Ayanboade Listed for AFYMP Media Entrepreneur Award

• Retains Journalistic Opportunities for Polyibadan. 

The managing publisher of Naija Metro News, Kehinde Ayanboade has been shortlisted for the 2022 edition of the AFYMP Top Media Entrepreneur Award. 


The African Foundation for Young Media Practitioners (AFYMP) who revealed this development in a release made available to newsmen by the Executive Director, AFYMP, Mr. Yinka Olaito maintained that Kẹ́hìndé Àyànbọ́ádé who doubles as the immediate president, Department of Mass Communication and other awardees and nominees are considered for the reward haven met a set down criteria after the organization had held training on June. 


Recall that Kehinde Ayanboade represented the Department of Mass Communication and The Polytechnic, Ibadan at large in a journalism fellowship with AFYMP in June, 2022.


AFYMP also maintained that Mr. Ayanboade has retained future scholarship, mentorship and journalism training opportunities for students in his institution, The Polytechnic, Ibadan while some institutions were listed for possible disqualification. 


Naija Metro's Kehinde Ayanboade and Precious Akintulubo, CEO, Horeah TV and product of Olabisi Onabanjo University would be awarded as the Top Media Entrepreneur of the Year during the award ceremony at Centre for Management Development, Magodo, Lagos on Tuesday 8th of November, 2022.


In the media entrepreneur category, Solomon Ilomechine and Akpan Sylvia will be awarded while two nominees, Peace Oladipo and Isaac Isaac would be jostling for the award. 


In Women in Journalism category,  Helen Ogbowu Okechukwu and  Precious Nkemjika would be awarded as Best woman in Journalism while nominees Godwin Gloria and Esther Oladipupo are nominated.


For Campus Journalism, Best campus Journalist goes to Zainab Adewale and Emmanuel Oluwadola. Disability Inclusion Journalism awards goes to Roland Bayode.


AFYMP who stressed that all awards come with a total value of cash and gift as discussed added that some schools may forfeit future opportunity. 


The release titled "Award Nominees" reads;

"We celebrate everyone who attended our training this year, 2022. While we appreciate the work you do, many of you did excellently well elsewhere as we monitored your published works, post our events. But for us only few fulfilled their participation mandate to us. Our award recipients were shortlisted and rewarded based on this and other criteria. We appreciate those who did and call on others to fulfil their promises because there is always a tomorrow, which is often pregnant.

Recipients must ensure they are present to receive their awards at our Annual lecture/prize giving day which holds at Centre for Management Development, Magodo, Lagos or send a representative who will receive the award on their behalf on Tuesday 8th November, 2022, Time is 10am prompt.
