ICYMI: Guinness Record Couple Who Kissed for 58 Hours Announces Separation

Thai couple, Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat, who achieved the Guinness World Record for the longest kiss in 2013, have announced that they have parted ways.

The couple made headlines by kissing for an impressive 58 hours and 35 minutes, surpassing their earlier record of 46 hours and 24 minutes set in 2011. In a recent interview on the BBC Sounds podcast Witness History, Ekkachai disclosed that their romantic relationship has concluded.

Despite the end of their partnership, he expressed a sense of pride in their remarkable accomplishment, describing it as a unique experience. He chose to focus on the positive memories they created together rather than the difficulties faced during the demanding competition.

Ekkachai also noted that the stringent rules of the contest rendered the experience less than romantic. Contestants were required to maintain their kiss even during restroom breaks and had to exchange water between their mouths, adding to the challenge.

While their relationship has come to an end, their record remains intact, serving as a lasting symbol of their perseverance and shared journey.
