The Oyo State Police command has ensured citizens of the state of adequate security as Muslims faithfuls across Nigeria and the whole world celebrate the end of Ramadan.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Johnson Adenola gave this assurance in a release signed and made available to newsmen by the State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP. Adewale Osifeso on Saturday.
The commissioner affirmed that adequate security measures have been implemented to ensure the residents of the pacesetter state celebrates Eid-ul-Fitri in peace and safety.
He added that the state police have spotlighted critical infrastructures including worship, recreation centers, correctional facilities and other vital exit points within the state.
The state commissioner who added that divisional officers, area commanders and tactical team have been deployed, further enjoined the citizens to be security conscious of their environment.
The statement reads in part;
“The Federal Government has designated Monday, March 31st, and Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, as the official dates for the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations.
“In light of this, CP Johnson O. Adenola, psc, Commissioner of Police for Oyo State Command, extends warm wishes for joyful festivities to the entire Muslim community in Oyo State. He affirms that comprehensive security measures have been implemented to ensure peace and safety during the holiday period and beyond.
“To support these efforts, the Command will be beaming its focus on all critical infrastructures within the state, including places of worship, recreation centers, public areas, correctional facilities, media organizations, and all entry and exit points within and around Oyo State.
“In accordance with standard operational procedures (SOP), the CP has instructed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Tactical Teams to take charge of security operations within their Areas of jurisdiction.
“These operations will involve intelligence-led motorized patrols, rigorous stop-and-search efforts, surveillance routines, and targeted raids aimed at combating criminal activities.
“Additionally, the Command has increased layers of supervision of its field operatives during the holidays and beyond to ensure the highest level of professionalism as they discharge their duties.
“As the Command congratulates the Muslim faithful and the broader community on the successful conclusion of the month of Ramadan, it reaffirms its commitment at guaranteeing the safety of lives and properties of all residents in Oyo State.
