The Oyo State House of Assembly have been petitioned to investigate various irregularities including financial mismanagement, illegal sales of government properties and many others in the Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services.
The Association of Sacked Supervendors and Investors of Oyo state Pacesetter Transport Services (PTS) filed the petition signed by the Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Asiwaju and addressed to the Speaker of the honourable house and received by the Assembly on the 21st of March, 2025.
The group also accused the leadership of the transport service of illegal business practices, unjust treatment of vendors, and non-remittance of revenue generated.
It added that personnels whom are members of the association were used by the transport service for the implementation of the Automated Fare Collection System but were later dismissed unfairly.
The group then seeks thorough auditing of the firm’s financial records, and the investigation of corruption, favouritism and ghost workers within the transport services.
The petition reads in part;
“PETITION TO THE OYO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY TO INVESTIGATE FINANCIAL MISMANAGEMENT, UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES, AND ILLEGAL SALE OF GOVERNMENT ASSETS AT PACESETTER TRANSPORT SERVICES (PTS)
“We, the Association of Sacked Supervendors and Investors of Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Service (PTS), write to formally petition the Oyo State House of Assembly (OYHA) to investigate the financial mismanagement, unjust treatment of vendors, non-remittance of revenue, and illegal sale of government assets at PTS.
“Our members, who played a key role in the implementation of the Automated Fare Collection System, were unfairly dismissed despite their contributions to the system’s success. We demand justice and accountability from PTS management, as well as a transparent review of its financial dealings.
Issues for Urgent Investigation
1. Unfair Termination of Supervendors and Investors
•The Automated Fare Collection System was successfully implemented through our collective investment and efforts, yet we were abruptly dismissed after the system started generating significant revenue.
•We were placed on an unfair 2.5% commission rate, which was insufficient to cover operational costs, despite promises of better earnings when interstate operations began.
•The sudden removal of O Triumph Multi Business Limited, the consultancy firm representing vendor interests, further eroded transparency and left vendors vulnerable to exploitation.
2. Corrupt Financial Dealings and Allegations of Favoritism
•While legitimate supervendors were dismissed, certain favored companies continued receiving payments despite providing no tangible services to PTS.
•Reports indicate the presence of ghost workers and inflated financial transactions, pointing to widespread financial mismanagement.
4. Failure to Remit Full Revenue from the E-Ticketing System
•On May 6, 2024, PTS introduced an E-ticketing system in addition to the Automated Fare Collection System. However, a large portion of the revenue is suspected to have been diverted instead of being remitted to the state government.
•We demand that Touch and Pay Technologies Nigeria Limited (62, Shipeolu Street, Somolu, Lagos) be summoned to provide backend access to all PTS transactions for full transparency.
Our Demands
In light of these findings, we respectfully call on the Oyo State House of Assembly to:
1.Conduct a forensic audit of PTS financial records to uncover irregularities.
2.Summon Touch and Pay Technologies Nigeria Limited to provide full backend access to all PTS transactions.
3.Investigate the unjust dismissal of supervendors and reinstate those found to have been unfairly removed.
4.Halt and reverse all illegal sales of government assets at PTS.
5.Probe allegations of corruption, favoritism, and ghost workers within PTS.
6.Hold all PTS officials accountable for financial mismanagement, abuse of power, and unjust business practices.
The people of Oyo State deserve transparency and fairness. The dismissal of legitimate supervendors, fraudulent financial transactions, and illegal asset disposals must be addressed to restore public trust in governance.
We stand united in demanding justice, accountability, and the protection of our rights as business investors and service providers.
We trust that the Honorable House will act swiftly and decisively on this matter.
Where were these vendors when Notting was working at Pacesetter Transport before Hon. Dikko.
