JUST IN: Rivers Assembly Commences Impeachment Process On Fubara, Deputy



The political tension in Rivers state has taken a dramatic turn as members of the State House of Assembly have filed a notice of allegations of gross misconduct against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.


The notice, submitted to the Speaker through the Clerk of the Assembly, cites reckless and unconstitutional expenditure of public funds, allegedly violating Sections 120, 121 (1)(2), and 122 of the Nigerian Constitution (as amended).


This action has been brought under Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution, signaling the beginning of impeachment proceedings.
