A Nigerian father has stirred controversy online after disowning his 5-month-old son, saying he regrets bringing him into the world through the “wrong woman.”
The incident was revealed in a post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by user @ChuksEricE, who posted screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation between the man and another individual.
In the chat, the man, believed to be the child’s father, clearly stated that he no longer considers the boy his son and wants nothing to do with him.
His exact words read: “He is not my son. I regret bringing him into this world with a wrong woman. He’s never going to be part of my life or my property. They should tell him he doesn’t have a father or show him another man as his father. That boy shouldn’t come near me.”
He continued: “I don’t want to ever hear his name. He’s no longer someone who exists to me. They should tell him his father is someone else, not me.”
As the post circulated, many social media users flooded the comment section to express shock, disappointment, and concern over the father’s remarks.
