The Oyo State House of Assembly Service Commission has officially opened its online portal for recruitment, inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals seeking employment within the Oyo State Legislative Service.


According to a statement signed by Hon. Femi Julius Okedoyin, Chairman of the Commission, the recruitment exercise targets several key administrative and technical roles across thirty-three categories.



The move, he said underscores the Oyo State Government’s commitment to strengthening legislative workforce and creating job opportunities for citizens.


The statement urged prospective applicants to submit their applications via the Oyo State Government Job Portal : [https://jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng]


Hon. Femi Julius Okedoyin added that application will run from Monday 7th July to Monday 14th July, 2025.


“Applicants are strongly advised to visit the portal early, verify specific job requirements, and ensure complete documentation before submission.”


Hon. Okedoyin emphasized that this recruitment offers a unique opportunity for qualified citizens to serve the state and contribute meaningfully to democratic governance.


The statement reads- “Applications are invited from prospective qualified candidates for employment into the vacancies existing in the various departments of the Oyo State Legislative Service. The positions to be filled, as well as the qualifications required from the applicants are stated below :


“Administrative Officer II, GL. 08 Requirements:

a. Applicants must possess a degree in any of the disciplines of Social Science, Law or Humanities from recognized institutions.

Applicants must have written and passed any of the Public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between years 2023 and 2025 with a minimum of Merit Grade.



“Accountant II, GL. 08, Requirements :

a. Applicants must possess a degree in Accounting from recognized Institutions.

b. Applicants must have written and passed any of the Public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between years 2023 and 2025.


“Information and Public Relations Officer II, GL. 08. Requirements :

a. Applicants must possess a degree preferably in Arts, Journalism or Social Science obtained From recognized University.

b. Applicants must have written and passed any of the Public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between years 2023 and 2025.



“State/Legislative Counsel I, GL. 09 Requirements :

Applicants must be a candidate who is legally qualified to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria.

v. Sergeant-At-Arms, GL. 08 Requirements:

Applicants must possess a degree in Arts Humanities or Social Science From recognized institutions.

b. Applicants must have written and pass any of the public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between years 2023 and 2025.


“Legislative Officer II, GL. 08 Requirements :

a. Applicants must possess a degree in Law, Arts or Social Science From recognized institutions.

b. Applicants must have written and passed any of the Public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between years 2023 and 2025 with a minimum of Merit Grade.


“Official Reporter, GL. 08 Requirements :

a. Applicants must possess a degree in Secretarial Administration/Office Technology and Management, social science, humanities or Arts from recognised institution, plus official Reporter certificate obtained from recognized training Institutions/140, 60 words per minutes.

b. Applicants must have written and passed any of the Public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between years 2023 and 2025 with a minimum of Merit Grade.


“Librarian lI, GL. 08 Requirements :

a. Applicants must possess a degree in Library Science/Studies from recognized institutions, or a degree from a recognized institution plus Postgraduate diploma in Library Science/studies.

b. Applicants must have written and passed any of the Public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between years 2023 and 2025 with a minimum of Merit Grade.


“Budget Officer II, GL. 08 Requirements :

a. Applicants must possess a degree in Economics, Statistics or any other relevant discipline From recognized institutions.

b. Applicants must have written and passed any of the Public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between years 2023 and 2025 with a minimum of Merit Grade.


“Higher Executive Officer (General Duties), GL. 08 Requirements :

Applicants must possess a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration or Public Administration or Banking and Finance from recognized institution.



“Higher Executive Officer (Accounts), GL. 08 reqUirements :

Applicants must possess a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy or Banking and Finance from recognized Institution.


“Higher Executive Officer (Information and Public Relations Officer), GL. 08 Requirements :

a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication or Journalism from recognized

Institutions.


“Confidential Secretary I, GL. 08 Requirements :

a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Administration/Office Technology and Management From recognized institutions, including a pass at 120 and 60 words per minutes respectively.


“Higher Store Officer, GL. 08

Requirements :

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business

Administration from recognized Institution


“Assistant Executive Officer (Accounts), GL. 06 Requirements :

Applicants must possess an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accountancy and Banking and Finance from recognized institutions.


“Assistant Executive Officer (General Duties), GL. 06 Requirements :

Ordinary National Diploma in Business

Administration/Public Administration/Banking and Finance from recognized institutions


“Assistant Executive Officer GL. 06 (Legislative Matters) Requirements :

Ordinary National Diploma in Business Administration/Public Administration/Banking and Finance from recognized institutions.


“Assistant Executive Officer (Information), GL.06, Requirements :

Ordinary National Diploma in Mass Communication or Journalism from recognized Institutions.


“Confidential Secretary III, GL. 06:

Requirements :

Ordinary National Diploma in Secretarial Administration/ Office Technology and Management including passes in shorthand and typewriting at 100 and 50 words per minutes respectively from recognized institutions.


“Assistant Technical Officer (Electrical), GL. 06 Requirements :

Ordinary National Diploma in Electrical Electronics or related subject from recognized institution.


“Assistant Superintendent of Press, GL. 06 Requirements :

Minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Photo/Lithography or any other related courses from recognized institution.


“Assistant Store Officer, GL. 06 Requirements :

Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Studies/Administration from a recognized institution.


“Secretarial Assistant II, GL. 05 Requirements :

Minimum of West African School Certificate Examination/ Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination with a credit pass in typewriting at 35words per minutes issued by any State owned Secretarial Institution plus Certificate in Computer.


“Clerical Officer II, GL. 04

Requirements :

Minimum of Secondary School Certificate Examination/Senior Secondary School Examination with four (4) credits obtained at one (1) sitting or five(5) credits at two (2) sittings.


“Health Assistant, GL. 04 Requirements :

Minimum of Secondary School Certificate Examination Senior Secondary School Examination with three (3) credits obtained at one (1) sitting or four credits passes at two (2) sittings, while the applicants must have successfully completed the two

(2) years training programme in the School of health/ Health Training School


“Technical Assistant I, (Electrical), GL. 04 Requirements :

Minimum of West Africa School Certificate including Credit passes in Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry.

b. Trade Test Certificate obtained from Government Trade centre or any other approved institution.

Note : Applicants must possess all the above qualifications plus at least two (2) years cognate experience.


“Secretarial Assistant IV, GL. 03 Requirements :

Minimum of Junior Secondary School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (O/Level) plus any of the following qualifications :

Computer Training Certificate from any

Government approved Centre ;

b. Certificate issued by any State owned Secretarial Institution.


“Clerical Assistant, GL. 03 Requirements :

Minimum of Junior School Certificate or evidence of completion of a full course in a Government approved Secondary School.


“Office Assistant, GL. 03 Requirements :

Minimum of Junior School Certificate or evidence of completion of a full course in a Government approved Secondary School.


“Store Assistant, GL. 03 Requirements :

Minimum of Junior School Certificate or evidence of completion of a full course in a Government approved Secondary School.


“Motor Driver, GL. 03

Requirements : Minimum of Junior School Certificate or evidence of completion of a full course in a Government approved Secondary School, plus a valid class “C” driving license.


“Watchman, GL. 03.

Requirements :

Minimum of Junior School Certificate or evidence of completion of a full course in a Government approved Secondary School.


“Gardner, GL. 02

Requirements : A suitable able bodied candidate.


“All applicants (i-xiv) must have graduated with a minimum of second class lower degree in the University or Lower Credit Certificate from the Polytechnic, as well as NYSC discharge certificate or Exemption Certificate. All applications must be accompanied with Certificate of State and Local Government of origin, birth certificate or declaration of age and primary school leaving certificate.”


Hon. Femi Julius Okedoyin reiterated the commitment of Oyo State House of Assembly Service Commission to transparency and merit-based selection.
