The Ondo State Police Command has identified a landlord, Oladele Femi, as the alleged mastermind behind the abduction, rape, and murder of two students from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).
The victims, 25-year-old Abah John Friday and 19-year-old Okah Andrel Eloho, were declared missing on June 20, 2025. A formal complaint was filed by the legal representatives of one of the families on June 24, prompting a full-scale investigation.
A major breakthrough came when officers traced an iPhone 14 Pro Max belonging to one of the victims to a suspect, Abdul Mohammed Mubarak, in Lagos.
During questioning, Mubarak revealed he purchased the phone from one Ojo Michael.
Michael was later arrested in Aramoko-Ekiti, Ekiti State, in possession of a Lexus RX 350 believed to belong to the deceased students.
During interrogation, Michael allegedly confessed to the crimes, claiming the victims were abducted and later murdered on the instructions of one of their landlords.
He also admitted to raping the female student, Okah Andrel Eloho, before both victims were killed. According to him, the decision to execute them was made after the female victim recognized one of the perpetrators.
The police have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect and recover the body of Abah John Friday, whose remains have not yet been found.
The Ondo State Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all individuals involved in the heinous crime are brought to justice.
