Amid ongoing controversies between Governor Okpebholo and Peter Obi about a visit from the former governor of Anambra to Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, the lawmaker representing Edo North, has made his position known on the trending feud.
Oshiomhole, a past governor of Edo state why weighing in on the matter, backed Okpebholo, stating that Peter Obi is indeed required to ask the Edo State governor for security clearance before embarking on his visitation to the state.
Oshiomhole revealed this while appearing on Arise TV's Prime Time programme yesterday. The lawmaker stated that it is only a thing of respect and decency if Peter Obi informed Governor Okpebholo of his visit to the state.
He stated further that personalities like Peter Obi ought to inform the appropriate authorities when making a visit to any state.
Also, Oshiomhole disclosed that the school Peter Obi intended to visit was fully funded by the state government.
Oshiomhole said, "Let’s face it; the property of the Edo state government is entrusted in the hands of the Edo state governor. If anyone, myself included, goes to Enugu or Anambra when Obi was governor and I want to visit a government-owned facility, like a nursing institution, it is a matter of decency and self-respect to inform the authorities.
“Peter Obi was my colleague, and we knew each other very well. I liked him then, and I still do, but politically, we don’t agree. I do not subscribe to his views on certain matters."
