Osun East Senator, Fadahunsi Dumps PDP

Senator representing Osun East in the National Assembly, Francis Fadahunsi, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fadahunsi, a second-term senator and one of the strong supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke, announced his resignation in a letter dated July 12, 2025, which was addressed to the party chairman in Ward 4, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.

He based his decision on the irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles the PDP is facing at the national level after the 2023 general elections.

“I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedeviled the party at the national level after the 2023 general elections.

“This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends. It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith,” he said.

However, Fadahunsi did not disclose the party he is joining next.
