Former goalkeeper to Chelsea and Arsenal football clubs, Petr Čech has announced his separation from his wife, Martina, after 26 years together.


In an emotional statement shared on Instagram, accompanied by a black-and-white photo of the couple, Čech revealed that while their marriage is ending, they remain close friends and devoted parents to their children.


“Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together. We remain the best of friends and immensely proud of our two beautiful children,” the message read, ending with a red heart emoji.


The 42-year-old Czech football icon, widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in Premier League history, enjoyed a glittering career at Chelsea, where he won four Premier League titles, five FA Cups, a Champions League, and a Europa League trophy. He later moved to Arsenal before retiring in 2019.


Since hanging up his gloves, Čech has remained active in football in various roles, including as a technical and performance advisor at Chelsea, and even briefly played professional ice hockey.


The news of the separation has drawn emotional reactions from fans, many expressing their support and admiration for how the couple is handling the split with dignity and respect.
