The National Youth Service Corps has announced that registration for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II will begin on Monday, September 8.
This was contained in a statement posted on the official X handle of the NYSC on Thursday.
Although the agency confirmed the commencement date, it did not specify when the registration exercise would end.
The NYSC, established in 1973 by the military regime of General Yakubu Gowon, was created as part of post-civil war efforts to promote reconciliation and foster unity among Nigerians.
The one-year mandatory service scheme deploys graduates of tertiary institutions below the age of 30 to states outside their region of origin.
Since inception, the scheme has been seen as a platform for national integration while also providing opportunities for young Nigerians to contribute to the country’s development.
