The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has cautioned residents against offering money or any form of inducement to its personnel while on official duty.
The warning was contained in a post on the Command’s official X handle (formerly Twitter), sighted by newsmen on Monday.
“It is unlawful to give our officers money or any form of inducement while they are performing their duty. Let them discharge their responsibilities diligently, without interference,” the statement read.
The Command assured residents of its commitment to professionalism, stressing that the Nigeria Police Force remains dedicated to serving with integrity and transparency.
It called for the cooperation of citizens in the collective effort to build a safer society.
It further urged the public to report cases of misconduct through its Complaint Response Unit (CRU) via 08107314192 or the emergency line 08032003913.
