Oluwarotimi Adetula, the new Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Oyo State Command, assumed office in Ibadan on Friday, becoming the state’s 15th commander.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adetula took over from Commander Olayinka Joe-Fadile, who had been redeployed to Osun as the new NDLEA commander.
The command’s spokesman, Jejelola Opeyemi, disclosed this in a statement he issued in Ibadan on Friday.
Opeyemi said that Adetula had, before his new appointment, served as the Head of Operations at Tin Can Island Port, Lagos, and as Osun NDLEA Commander.
According to him, Adetula pledged that officers under his watch will work tirelessly in collaboration with other sister security agencies in the state.
Adetula, who hailed from Owo, Ondo State, assured residents of the state that he would work assiduously to ensure the state remained free of drug abuse and other illicit trafficking.
