It was a day of honour, gratitude, and celebration of a life well-lived as the remains of Mama Omotayo Ibironke Oladoye, mother of renowned journalist and publisher of National Insight Newspaper, Remi Oladoye (JP), were laid to rest in Ogbomoso on Thursday, November 7, 2025.

The burial ceremony, which drew dignitaries from across political, media, religious, and social circles, turned Ogbomoso into a hub of love and solidarity for the Alárinká Agbáyé (World Traveler) himself, Remi Oladoye. The massive turnout was a clear testament to the goodwill, humility, and loyalty he has shown over the years—virtues that have earned him deep respect across spheres.

Among the prominent personalities in attendance were Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole (Wolekanle); Alhaji Lamidi Monsour Ejide; Chief Gbenga Akinbobola (Islander); Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade; former Presidential Adviser, Prince Williams Adeleye; Chief Biodun Ogunsusi; Ajana of Usi-Ekiti, Prince Bayo Owolabi; and Chairman of Olab Gas, Otunba Lekan Akinyele. Others included Chief Abraham Adisa Agboola (AB Motors), Chief Gbile Adeomi, Mogaji Samuel Bolanta, and a large delegation of media practitioners.

Also in attendance were Alhaji Rasaq Gbadegesin, a member of the Oyo State Governorship Advisory Council; Hon. George Ogunlade, Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government; Hon. Bisi Oluranti, member of the Oyo State House of Assembly; and Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly. The Old Students Association of Anglican Grammar School, Ogbomoso, where Remi Oladoye is an alumnus, was also well represented.

Representatives of Hon. Olamiju Alao-Akala and Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, alongside the management and staff of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), were equally present. Prominent movie maker and evangelist Kolade Segun Okeowo, members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), and several retirees were among those who paid their respects.

Mama Omotayo Ibironke Oladoye, who passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 74, was celebrated as a virtuous and God-fearing woman who dedicated her life to service, faith, and family.

Friends and associates described her as a devoted mother and pillar of strength whose legacy of love, hard work, and compassion continues to shine through her children.

As prayers were offered and tributes flowed, it was evident that Mama’s life had left an indelible mark on all who knew her. The atmosphere radiated joy and thanksgiving rather than sorrow, as family and friends danced in celebration of a fulfilled life.

To crown the day, Zammy Tee thrilled the gathering with soul-lifting music, adding colour and energy to the memorable event.

Indeed, Ogbomoso stood still—not in mourning, but in celebration of a woman whose light continues to shine through her children and the countless lives she touched.
