Dangote Refinery has announced a significant reduction in fuel prices, lowering the cost of petrol and diesel by substantial margins.
The refinery’s latest pricing directive, released on March 10, 2026, sets petrol at ₦1,075 per litre at the gantry, down from ₦1,175 per litre. This marks a ₦100 decrease, aimed at easing supply costs across the market.
For coastal deliveries, petrol will now be available at ₦1,050 per litre, reflecting a minor adjustment to account for maritime distribution expenses, according to the refinery.
Diesel prices have also been cut sharply. Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) now sells for ₦1,430 per litre at the gantry, reduced by ₦190 from its previous ₦1,620 rate.
A spokesperson for Dangote Refinery emphasized that these prices are exclusive of fees imposed by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
“Our goal is to improve fuel accessibility while maintaining efficient distribution,” the official said.
Industry analysts suggest that this price adjustment could influence downstream petrol stations to recalibrate their retail prices, potentially offering relief to consumers amid rising transportation costs.
