The Labour Party has announced that its 2027 presidential ticket will be reserved for candidates from Southern Nigeria.
The party’s Acting National Chairperson, Nenadi Usman, made the declaration on Tuesday during an interview with journalists in Abuja.
Usman emphasized that no aspirant from the northern region would be allowed to contest the party’s ticket.
“We have zoned the position to Southern Nigeria. Any northern aspirant who attempts to contest will not be accepted,” she said.
She described the decision as final, stressing that it reflects the party’s commitment to regional balance in its political strategy.
