President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged the persistent electricity challenges facing the country, assuring Nigerians that his administration is actively working to address the problem and improve power supply nationwide.
Speaking during the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the President acknowledged that electricity shortages remain a significant concern for citizens and businesses, but insisted that ongoing reforms in the sector would ultimately yield results.
Tinubu told party members that efforts are underway to stabilise the electricity value chain, strengthen infrastructure and resolve long-standing structural challenges that have hindered consistent power generation and distribution across the country.
According to him, the federal government has been engaging stakeholders in the energy sector while implementing policies aimed at improving generation capacity and enhancing the efficiency of the national grid.
Moreover, the President said his administration remains committed to tackling the underlying issues affecting the power industry, including financial constraints, transmission limitations and operational inefficiencies within the electricity market.
Tinubu stressed that improving electricity supply is central to the government’s broader economic reform agenda, noting that stable power is essential for industrial growth, job creation and national development.
Furthermore, he urged party members and Nigerians to remain patient as the administration continues to implement measures designed to strengthen the power sector and deliver more reliable electricity to homes and businesses.
The APC convention brought together party leaders, government officials and delegates from across the country to review party activities and discuss political strategies ahead of future elections.
