No fewer than eight countries and over fifteen foreign media organisations have shown interest in the 2026 World Egungun Festival, the Oyo State Government has disclosed.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, made this known during a courtesy visit to Pacesetter Transport Services in Ibadan, where he led the Ministry’s management team alongside Permanent Secretary Rotimi Babalola.
He said countries including Gabon and Sierra Leone are among those expected to participate, noting that the festival is gaining increasing international recognition.
He added that efforts are ongoing to secure UNESCO recognition for the cultural event.
Olatubosun called for partnership with Pacesetter Transport Services, especially in providing transportation logistics for guests and masquerades.
In his response, the Chairman of Pacesetter Transport Services, Salami Oladeji Ibraheem (Dikko), commended the Ministry’s efforts and pledged continued support, assuring that the company would align with plans for a successful 2026 edition the World Egungun Festival.
