Ibadan Poly Appoints Olufunto Ojewunmi as Acting Registrar

 



Authorities of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has announced the appointment of Mrs Olufunto Abimbola Ojewunmi as Acting Registrar of the institution.

Her appointment follows the retirement of the former Acting Registrar, Mr Joseph Adewumi Ogunjimi, who exited the service upon attaining the statutory retirement age of 65.


A statement issued on Wednesday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mogaji Soladoye Adewole, said the appointment, approved by the Governing Council, took effect from March 23, 2026, and is for an initial period of six months.

Until her elevation, Ojewunmi was the Deputy Registrar in charge of Personnel.


She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from the University of Lagos and joined the service of The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1992 as an Administrative Officer.

Over the years, she rose through the ranks to become a Senior Deputy Registrar, serving in various administrative capacities across the institution.

Her career profile includes stints as Faculty Officer in different faculties, with her last posting at the Faculty of Science before her deployment to the Personnel Unit as Deputy Registrar (Personnel). She also served as Deputy Registrar at the institution’s Continuing Education Centre.

Ojewunmi also represented the Rector as Acting Chairman of the Governing Board of The Polytechnic, Ibadan High School for several years.

She is a member of the Association of Higher Education Professionals and the Association of University Administrators, both based in the United Kingdom.

The statement described her as a seasoned administrator with decades of experience in higher education management.

Ojewunmi is married with children.
